This Thursday sees the start of the world famous San Diego Comic-Con and Sony are there in full force with a Uncharted Panel and the unveiling of some Uncharted merchandise. Sony plan to flood the market with Uncharted-related goodness that takes the franchise behold the videogames. First up is the Uncharted novel from Random House. Announced last year, UNCHARTED: THE FOURTH LABYRINTH, will follow Nathan Drake as he embarks on an all-new, original, action-packed adventure.  This thrilling story will take Nathan from the ruins of Crete to a secret crypt deep in the heart of China–and into a mysterious labyrinth that may be hiding the greatest secret of all!

It wouldn’t be a comic convention without some comic book action, and DC Comics have you covered. UNCHARTED #1 follows Nathan Drake on a journey to the center of the earth, on a quest to see the legendary “Amber Room.” As enemies from Sir Francis Drake’s past come for revenge on his descendant, Drake must use all the skills at his disposal to stay one step ahead of the game. The comic series is scheduled to debut just in time for the release of UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, this November.

Next up is a pretty damn awesome Nathan Drake Action Figure from SquareEnix Play Arts Kai range. You may have already seen their work as they have released a Bayonetta figure and have produced a Adam Jenson figure for the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition. The Nate figure with feature the high level of detail you’d expect from the Play Arts collection as well 21 points of articulation. It’s still in the evaluation stages but as you can see from the picture below it’s already looking rather special.

As well as working with Random House, DC Comics and SquareEnix. Sony have also teamed up with ESC Toys to release a range of Uncharted Vinyls, Mezco Toys to release a 6″ Action Figure model and Sideshow Collectibles, who as well as providing the Drake Statue for the Uncharted 3 Collectors Edition will be revealing something special at SDCC. It’s great to see Sony getting behind the IPs with additional merchandise. We love our gaming related goodies here at PlayStationer.net and will be feverishly clearing space in order to create our very own Drake Shrine.
