It seems as fast as other video game outlets are closing development studios, Sony are welcoming them with open arms. So far this year Sony have snapped up Augmented Reality experts, Novarama Technology and UK developer Double Eleven to both work on upcoming PlayStation Vita projects. Today Sony have announced that famed developers of the Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS series, Sucker Punch Productions, have been officially added to the ever growing family of Sony Worldwide Studios.

We have a soft spot for anything Sucker Punch release, so it’s fantastic news that Sony have finally welcomed them to the PlayStation family. Although Sucker Punch have always been a PlayStation-exclusive studio they have also remained independent, like Insomniac Games. And much like Insomniac, this meant they could make games for other consoles if they so wished. Today’s announcement ensures Sony’s 1st party output continues to be the envy of the games industry and see all future Sucker Punch titles remaining Only on PlayStation.
