Its been confirmed from Sony Corp. Executive Vice President Kazuo Hirai, that the PlayStation Vita won’t be hitting the stores till next year in Europe and America. No specific date however has been given for the portable device, as to when Sony will release the PlayStation Vita. 

With the Nintendo 3DS dropping the price down to $169.99 from $249.99, Kazuo Hairai explains how and why there is no need to lower the price on the Vita:

“We packed so much into the device and made it very affordable, There is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price.”

The PlayStation Vita will still continue to cost £230 for the United Kingdom, $249 within the U.S. and 24,980 yen in Japan for the PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi-only version. With 3G for an extra £50 for the UK at £279.99 and $299 for the US.
