The Devil May Cry series has been going since 2001, and with the exception of Devil May Cry 2, fans would say that the series has gone from strength to strength.

I have never been a fan of the series. There’s just something about it that doesn’t quite click with me. For me the King of the Hack and Slash genre has to be Kratos in the God of War Series.

At TGS-2010 Capcom announced that they were rebooting the Devil May Cry Series. At first this news didn’t interest me in the slightest, but then I heard two words which changed my mind…..Ninja Theory.

Since the launch of the PS3, Ninja Theory have developed two outstanding, although very underrated games. Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

Heavenly Sword was a PS3 exclusive, and what a beautiful game it was. The gameplay was fun, the story was interesting and the characters were loving brought to life. There was nothing not to like about this game. This was God of War with a Girl!

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, also equally impressed me. This game was another fantastic adventure, with some great characters. The gameplay was a nice mash-up of Ico, Prince of Persia, Uncharted and of course Heavenly Sword.

Ninja Theory had made me notice them, and I’d recommend these games to anyone who hasn’t played them.

Ninja Theory are the reason I’m so excited about the Devil May Cry reboot. I’m sure that they will make another great game, and please both fans and newcomers to the series.
