Rocksteady, The talent behind Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, are rumoured to be working on a ”Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ game.

Before I go any further I have to stress this is all unconfirmed but we here at Playstationer.net are huge turtles fans and couldn’t resist a story like this.

It is expected to be a darker take on the original turtles cartoons from the eighties. It uses the Arkham City graphics engine which will undoubtedly help bring the dark edge needed. Krang, Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop are rumoured to be amongst the cast of villains (The Rat King needs to be there) causing mayhem in Manhattan.

All 4 turtles are playable but how you select them is yet to be discussed (Like the whole project). Master Splinter is also said to playable but his part is limited to flashback scenarios.

Manhattan is BIG, so even though the heroes in a half shell have grappling hooks and Spiked climbing shoes (not the technical name at all) they will need something else to get them to incidents a lot more quickly, Which can only mean one thing, The Turtle Van. It is there as is the Blimp. I’ll give you a second for the nostalgia to wear off. . .

Welcome back. Although the details seem slim the reality of this happening is quite high. There is a new live-action Movie in production and Nickelodeon have greenlit (Unintentional pun, sorry) a new CG series meaning the turtles are here to stay.

Right now Turtle fever is high. Long time fans like myself are being treated to 100 hundred Christmases of turtle goodness.
