Sony has today released a mandatory PS3 firmware update. Sony hasnt really confirmed what the reason for the update is, they have only said that, “Today we are releasing a mandatory system software update (v4.11) for Playstation 3. This minor firmware improves certain aspects of system software.”

It may have something to do with the PS Vita release next week but strangley this update is not mandatory in the US or Canada. Strange.
