Sony has today announced that the multiplayer mode from their highly acclaimed Killzone 3 will be released free of charge on the PSN next week.

The news broke on the Official PlayStation Blogcast and confirmed that multiplayer mode will be available for free and include all the maps. However your level and progress will eventually be capped.

Players who then wish to continue to play after the cap will have to fork out the $14.99 for the complete experience.

This sounds like a nice little gesture from Sony to get people interested in Killzone 3 but if your looking to continue your experience $14.99 seems like a lot just for the multiplayer considering you can pick the whole game up new for between £10-£15 which includes the online multiplayer and single player.
