Were you planning on using your PS3/Vita at some point today? Perhaps a gaming night was in order, well if so you’ll probably have to shelve those plans as Somy has announced that from 2pm today, the PSN will be down for ‘scheduled maintenance.’ It will apparently last about 13 hours.

According to the PS Blog:

“Starting at approximately 2pm GMT/6am PDT / 9am EDT. This maintenance will last roughly 13 hours, concluding around 3am GMT/7pm PDT / 10pm EDT. During much of this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online.”

“We will continue to provide as much information as we can regarding any future maintenance we need to schedule.”

“Keep your eyes on the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online.”

Just how many of these scheduled maintenance down times should we expect? It seems to be becoming a more and more common issue?
