Bungarra have announced that The Surfer video game is heading to the Playstation 3.

Currently in the alpha phase of development The Surfer looks to bring the best surfing experience to the Playstation 3 with a new physic based momentum mechanic for real surfing physics. The game will feature international surfers and will see you challenging other surfers from locations all over the globe in a leader-board style competition. Become the world champ starting with the qualifying tour where your goal is to finish in the top 5 to be able to compete in the Pro Tour.

The Pro Tour sees you battling to be the world champion and the place where you can buy or create your own equipment, upgrade your character stats and play multiplayer modes with friends. If all that is a bit too serious you can just cruise around in the Free Surf mode.
