According to a report from MCV retailers have apparently given up waiting for Square to announce the release date of their hugely anticipated Hitman Absolution, and decided to slap a September release on it themselves.

Zavvi believes the game will arrive in the UK on September 17th, while ShopTo has September 24th release date. HotUKDeals also has a September 17th release date.

Square haven’t responded to the reports so we are still in the dark. However retailers tend to be reasonably accurate when it comes to ousting games and release dates.  So it would be a surprise if the game doesn’t see a release around the September period.
