Sony has announced that the multiplayer aspect of Uncharted 3 is to become a free-to-play standalone title on the PSN.

The game which sees the first free-to-play game released by Sony on the PSN will feature all multiplayer competitive modes, as well as the original maps. The game will allow players to level up to rank 15 without paying.

Sony has also said that weapons, character skins and taunts, as well as new level caps will be sold separately on the PSN. Along with those features, the single-player portion of the game, and the co-op version, as well as DLC bundles and the full Game of the Year Edition will be made available to purchase on the PSN.
