Following on from the news that Watch_Dogs has been delayed until 2014, DRIVECLUB is the next title to unfortunately follow suit, with President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida confirming the news.

“SCE Worldwide Studios and the team at Evolution Studios have made the difficult decision to delay the release of DRIVECLUB and DRIVECLUB PlayStation Plus Edition until early 2014. DRIVECLUB will be a truly innovative, socially connected racing game, but the team requires more time in order to deliver on their vision — and I’m fully confident the game will surpass your expectations.”

In order to soften the blow of DRIVECLUB not being available at launch, Shuhei confirmed that “Contrast” (see the video below) will instead be available at launch, as well as a free “Open Weekend” trial of Killzone on December 28th-29th.

Shu also confirmed that when DRIVECLUB does eventually release, PS Plus members will still receive their free DRIVECLUB Plus Edition.
