After months of speculation and ARG-based teases, Square Enix have announced there will indeed be a Hitman 5. Titled Hitman Absolution, the game will once follow the murderous escapades of the cold blooded assassin – Agent 47, who supposedly has taken on his most dangerous contract to date.

According to the Hitman YouTube page on which a 30 second Teaser trailer was revealed. Agent 47 will be “Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth”

Little else is known apart from Absolution is being developed by series creator IO Interactive and is being created using an updated version of their Glacier 2 Engine. Expect a in-depth look at Hitman Absolution in next issue of Edge Magazine as well as Square Enix revealing even more details at next month’s E3.
