While Hideo Kojima and his colleagues at Kojima Productions were off at the GDC unveiling to the world their latest installation to the Metal Gear Solid family, I was busy working away at putting the finishing touches on our latest iteration of the PlayStationer website.

2 years and 2 days ago today PlayStationer.net made its first appearance with a small team, and since then we have grown to a large media outlet focusing on the world of PlayStation. And what better way to mark our 2nd year in action than with a beautifully crafted update to the website.

For the past month or so I’ve been working away at giving PlayStationer.net a fresh new face. In designing this 4th version of PlayStationer.net we kept two things in mind, Simplicity and Readability. In creating a distraction free canvas for our work, we ensure that nothing gets in between you and the content. We also wanted to keep everything clean and simple, learning from our past mistakes in Web Design by creating cluttered layouts. We have learnt where our mistakes lie, and try to rectify what we can.

Another big change is our logo, designed for us by the talented Shane Delahunty, who had suggested employing a graphical logo rather than just stylised text to represent PlayStationer.net. At first I was reluctant to change this big aspect of PlayStationer’s identity, however after seeing what he had come up with I was amazed.

I’d personally just like to say a huge thanks to Shane for the logo & feedback, and to everyone on the PlayStationer team who have given me so much support and feedback for this redesign, along with the great service they have given to the site over the years.

Take a look around the site and tell us what you think, we’d absolutely love any and all feedback we can get on the site so we can work towards making PlayStationer a better place. If you have any suggestions or bug reports please don’t be afraid to get in touch with me on alex(@)playstationer.net.

And to play us out, we have a few pictures of PlayStationer throughout the years. Enjoy.
