As the year of the zombies starts to leave the Summer behind, Yager and Deep Silvers latest trailer for Dead Island 2 serves well in reminding us that sun filled beaches ridden with animated corpses for us to destroy will soon be on the way.

The “Sunshine & Slaughter” trailer is a pretty apt name, and whilst the gameplay previewed is still early in development it showcases well how Yager have taken Techlands excellent starting point and built upon it. There is still gore and dismemberment. Crazy weapon mods, and of course special zombies to encounter.

It’s certainly shaping up to be a welcome sequel to my personal favourite new franchise from last generation. With a release date set for 21st of April 2015 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC it should give them enough time to polish out those awkward animations on the guns… not that the originals did of course.
